WorkBuddy tests paid features for skills and experts
产品应用
WorkBuddy is running a closed beta of paid skills and experts, supporting one-time purchases and monthly subscriptions. Publishers must pass a document review and sign an agreement through WeChat to enable monetization; assets with existing installed users cannot currently be converted to paid offerings.
During its paid-feature closed beta, WorkBuddy is allowing publishers who have completed onboarding to configure charges for two asset types: skills and experts. Assets with existing installed users cannot currently be converted to paid offerings. Publishers can set a fixed one-time price, after which buyers retain permanent usage rights, or set a monthly price, which grants access only during an active subscription and requires renewal after expiry. The company describes the former as intended for assets with relatively stable functionality that can be used long-term after a single delivery, and the latter as intended for assets requiring ongoing updates, maintenance, or services. Other payment models remain under preliminary study.
Activation starts in the open platform’s monetization section, where publishers submit documents according to their entity type. After approval, they are redirected to WeChat to scan a QR code and sign an agreement establishing the settlement and payment relationship. Once the agreement is signed, publishers can access income management, publish paid assets, and view revenue data. Withdrawals also require switching to WeChat, with proceeds transferred to the linked receiving account. For stalled or unsuccessful reviews or signing attempts, the company says publishers should make corrections according to the on-screen instructions and resubmit; WeChat returns review results within 24 hours at the latest. The company also says paid assets are encrypted and run in the cloud to restrict copying and distillation after purchase.

UK Chancellor John Healey has unveiled an AI investment package worth hundreds of millions of pounds, including £10 million annually to study changes to jobs and industry. The plan supports domestic chip design, talent development and security capabilities, with AI also set to feature in the Budget.
UK Chancellor John Healey announced AI investments worth hundreds of millions of pounds on October 24, 2026, and plans to include AI in the Budget. The package includes £10 million annually to study how AI will change jobs and industry and how Britain should respond. Regional projects include investment in AI chip design capabilities in Edinburgh and a new AI Centre of Excellence in Manchester to develop talent. The government also proposed establishing an AI Biosecurity Lab to address emerging biological threats. According to the government, these measures are intended to reduce dependence on overseas technology, support domestic businesses and strengthen capabilities to counter cyber attacks, biological risks and other AI-related threats.
The government also cited examples of AI use in public services. According to official figures, the NHS uses AI to help analyse more than 210,000 chest X-rays each month, approximately one-third of its total. Suspected lung cancer cases identified within 24 hours increased by 11.5%, allowing around 400 additional patients each month to receive results sooner, while the average wait for follow-up CT scans fell from 6.3 to 5.6 days. HMRC’s AI digital assistant, Ask HMRC, supported around 6.3 million customer interactions in 2025–2026.
